Hiram and Ximena contribute professionally to the field of public education: Hiram as a faculty member of Cosumnes River College and Ximena as a library technician in the Davis Joint Unified School District. While both make important contributions to students and colleagues in their working lives, it is in their community service that they truly shine. Their exemplary contributions include:
Hiram is a past board member and current volunteer of the Davis School Orchestral Music Association (DSOMA).
Hiram has served as a tireless volunteer on the steering committees of five Davis school parcel taxes – Measures W (2008), A (2011), C (March 2012), E (November 2012) and H (November 2016).
Ximena has been an active volunteer with Davis Farm to School
Both have contributed countless hours of service work devoted to equity and outreach for youth in our community.
Hiram’s and Ximena’s most unique and meaningful contribution to our community has been the creation of Mariachi Puente, a mariachi band for Davis junior high and high school students.
