Edward B. Roessler - 1957 (Covell)
Roessler was “a scholar and a true Renaissance man” who at Berkeley earned a doctorate in math and a degree in architecture at the same time and was also a musician (he played the violin), loved gardening, and was a wine judge for the California State Fair for 20 years. He designed five houses in College Park and several downtown.
He created the math and physics departments at UCD, was acting dean of the College of Letters and Science on the Davis campus; is currently chair of the Math Department and UC extension representative for the Davis campus; has served as chairman of the campus budget committee.
