Rothe, who has been in Davis since 1963, has played the major role in establishing Suicide Prevention here in 1966 and has spent two hours a day on work there since its inception. The organization responds to an estimated 300 suicide attempts throughout Yolo County annually.
Rothe is a civil engineer with the Urban Planning Department of the Calif Highway Division. He is also a leader of an adult class at Davis Methodist Church and was chairman for two years of Boy Scout Troop 198 at St. James Catholic Church.
Mayor Vigfus Asmundson presented the award January 21, 1972, at the Chamber Dinner at the El Macero Country Club.
