Red stefflre - 1979 (brinley)
Stefflre was recognized for his activism in senior citizens affairs.
Stefflre felt more should be done by seniors, for seniors, when he came to Davis in 1975. He instilled a sense of togetherness and spirit in the seniors and raised membership from a few hundred to 1,050. He has chaired the Senior Citizens Commission. He initiated the Seniors’ Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner Programs in 1976 and searched for grant funds for a permanent senior center.
Hoyt presented the awards at the Chamber Dinner January 19, 1980, at the UCD Faculty Club.
